Switching back to Firefox

Hunting fox, Hayden Valley

For several years Firefox was my go-to browser. I don’t recall when or why I stopped using it, (I think it was something about the Google Meet integration) but some time back I moved to Brave and never switched back.

I like Brave, but I am worried about the fact that almost every browser today is built on top of Chromium, and I want to support the alternatives. So from today, I’m going to go back to being a Firefox user.

Fortunately it wasn’t that long ago that I switched, so all my bookmarks and extensions are still there, I’ll probably just need to log into a few places again.

You won’t be surprised to find that Google was fined around 10 years ago for intentionally slowing down their products on Firefox. And even loading Docs on Firefox now proves to be much slower than Chrome.

I think backgrounds in meet could be why you switched, since Firefox apparently can’t handle them
